Use this guide when Yuzu Print Extension should send documents to a specific printer instead of the default print destination.
Before you start
The printer must already exist in Yuzu.
You need access to the Yuzu team that owns the printer.
You need to know whether all documents should go to one printer or whether each document tag should route separately.
Find the printer ID in Yuzu
Open Yuzu.
Go to
http://localhost:3000/printersin your local app, or open the printer list in the Yuzu app environment your team uses.Find the printer in the table.
Copy the printer ID from the table.
You can also select the printer and copy the ID from the URL.
Send every document to one printer
Use Static Printer ID when every Yuzu document printed from this browser should go to the same printer.
Open Yuzu Print Extension settings.
Select the platform your team prints from.
Turn on Specify Printer Override.
Select Static Printer ID.
Paste the printer ID into the printer field.
Save the settings.
Print one known order and confirm it reaches the expected printer.
Route different document tags to different printers
Use Tag-Based Routing when different document types should go to different printers. For example, Invoice and Gift message can go to a document printer, while Sticker goes to a label printer.
For the full setup, use Set up tag-based printer routing in Yuzu Print Extension.
Confirm it worked
Print a known order with generated Yuzu documents.
Confirm the documents reach the expected printer.
If using tag routing, confirm each tag reaches the intended printer.
Keep the printer ID somewhere your operations team can find it later.
Troubleshooting
Nothing prints: Confirm the printer is online in Yuzu and the printer ID was copied correctly.
Documents go to the old printer: Save the extension settings again, then refresh the platform tab.
Some tagged documents do not route: Check the document tag spelling, including spaces and capitalization.
The printer ID changed or cannot be found: Reopen the printer list and copy the current ID from the table or selected printer URL.
